Yup, that's the plan. I haven't even begun to start on rooms/hotels. Been slammed lately. Will get on that soon.

There are only a couple choices in Denton, and staying on the north side of ABQ makes Thurs morning easier. Past that no real guidelines.

I knew it would be an easier travel schedule than what you and I did for HIH3, when we made 5 minutes pit stops every couple hours for fuel and coffee for 13 hours straight! I'm sitting here in a client's office "working" reading yalls' Rkansaw trip reports

I drove a 06 LX yesterday on my way to Oxford, MS and and going back to haggle on Thursday on my way back to Bham. if we can come up with a deal, I'm headed to snatch that low mileage one that was a vacation property car in Palm Beach for some snowbirds. I should be 100'd up here soon in time to get everything set
 
Hi southern cruisers. I like all of you cannot wait to go to HIH. Last year was a blast.

Just wondering if y'all are passing near Dallas. If so would anyone have room in their truck for my father. He is driving to co with me from San Diego. Trying to get him back home to Dallas in a less circuitous route.

Get me in to HIH6 and I'll get him back to Dallas. I'll keep checking if you guys have dinner in DFW I could come meet up but then I'll just want to keep following.

I'm sure we can get a seat for him from one of the contingent. I may be headed towards Denver after HIH now for a little fishing though.
 
Guys, I regretfully am going to have to miss this years HIH. I already got with Chris. My job is wanting to send me out of town and I couldn't turn it down. On the upside, most of the money I'll save and make will go towards my rig. I wish you all a safe trip and I'll keep following.
 
Today marks the start of the 40 day countdown for me. Same +/- 1 for some of you i think.

Monroe LA crew (3 of us) plans are to roll out sometime just after lunch on Tuesday, July 26th, headed west. First overnight will be Tuesday night in Dallas/Denton/Decatur area. Working on hotel accommodations now.

Wednesday, 27th, depart DFW area early morning, headed to ABQ. Spend the night there. Working on hotel now.

Thursday, 28th, depart DFW headed up to Silverton. We normally try to leave by 9, but may shoot for a tad earlier this year.


Any and all are welcome to join in at any leg on this trip, especially the ride up from ABQ. In years past we've had 5-6 rigs for that last leg, and it's an enjoyable 1/2 day for sure.

Post up, shoot me a PM or text at 318-five three seven-4432 if you want to get on the same page with travel plans or hotels.
 
That works for us because we will leave from either Daphne or Birmingham early (6am) on Tuesday, riding down I20 to meet your crew in Monroe by lunch. Its right at 5 hours from either city. Then Brennan and I will tag along with yall the rest of the way out.
 
Update on my plans gents. Due to Kim and I's work schedule we will be leaving a little early so we can spend some more time in the area. As of right now this is the plan.

Leave Friday July 22nd stop Dallas/Denton/Decatur area.
Saturday 23rd drive little bit past ABQ and find a hotel.
Sunday-Monday camping/hiking North ridge of grand canyon
Tues-Wednesday hotel in Zion
Arrive in Silverton Thursday.
 
I'm still working through details to possibly meet up with the group near Dallas. Looking more and more I may be able to do this, but will not be able to verify till next week when I'm back at the office. In the mean time, I'm dealing with blood sucking parasites here in Arkansas!

I would like to join the group on the Dallas to Abq leg. I'm just north of DFW airport. Just let me know where to meet up Wednesday morning and where the group will stay in Abq.
 
Awesome! We are staying in Denton so I would imagine we would meet at one of the hotels, Starbucks etc that morning before heading out. Normally between 8 and 9.
