For the 4th year in a row, starting a new thread for southern based trucks to caravan to HiH.

Started with 3 rigs, last year we had 6.

Typically we meet in ABQ the Thursday morning before the event, and head north. About a 6 hour trip, with a stop for lunch. Puts us in camp in the 2-3pm range. We MAY leave a day early this year though...will be discussed in the thread more in depth.

Anyone leaving from ABQ or coming up from the south is more than welcome to join in this year.

Meet point for the trip up.

Warrior Fuel Station on the south side of Hwy 550 north of Abq. We always meet in the empty lot just beside the station.

in 2013, @ntsaint and I had a two man caravan, so I'm glad to see more joining the trip

In a moment of stupidity the next year, i convinced myself i needed a truck for the family plantation and sold the cruiser for a 2500hd. That HD apparently means hundred dollars for the parts every few weeks. I'm dumping the truck and the dd volvo s80 for another cruiser. I've got everything I need to throw one together, so hopefully I'll be ready to roll in the next few weeks. Glad to be back!

Watched. I am trying to figure out Kim and I's work schedule. We are attempting to spend a little more time out there (either on the front of back end) so I will update everyone as we get more details. We may try to make a loop to Grand Canyon National Park and Zion to do some Hiking first then head through Moab towards Ouray, or vis-versa. That is all just up in the air though right now.

Brennan, a buddy who was a KA with me in college and is big into wheeling, and I would like to go either early or stay later since we are out there. Last time I went, I had to rush back to get to a convention in Biloxi. He's an old Eagle Scout like myself, so camping isn't an issue, he just uses a cpap machine to deal with, but I think he could sleep in the truck with a convertor and i can tent it. We'll figure that out later though.

I wont be making the HIH but will be out there leaving ATL on July 8th and will be cruising CO and in the San Juan's from about July 20 to the 29th, then starting back. Would love to meet some folks if heading out early.

Depends for me. There are a few headed to Moab so I may tag along. I'll know for sure as the day gets closer. If not, I'm in to hang out for another day at camp. The gf isn't coming this year so the only work schedule I need to worry about is mine this time and I have plenty of vacation time.

We're thinking of maybe checking out Moab afterwards since we're so close. I'll probably only be running sliders and 33" tires with stock bumpers, so I may be site seeing more than wheeling.

Tons of Moab trails can be done with that setup. Even more if you have a hitch on the back. Lots of bumper scrapers.

I have zero armor and don't plan on doing anything heavy. Might also pick up sliders before. That's a big maybe.

Yes, the trailer hitch does helps a lot. I banged it pretty hard a few times even during HIH5.
