I went to the local drive shaft shops and neither of them would sell me just the tubing.

So, Does anyone know where I can order the tubing? I am going to call up Tom Woods to see if he will soon.

Thanks agian..

I know this isnt a hardcore question, I just know that there is a better chance of getting an anwser here with a larger group of Muders.

From the Pirate4x4.com Toyota Forum FAQ:

"2.5'' Sch. 40 pipe. is 2.875" OD x .203" thick which is almost 1/4'' wall and is a good fit for the toy yokes. You just have to use an endgrinder or the like to knock the seam down in the pipe. "

You can probably find 2.5" sch 40 pipe a lot easier than anything else. Just an idea.

I will be running that on my trail rig soon. But I need OEM for a DD rig I am building...Thanks for the info I was going to dig that up in TT soon since I also need to make a trail shaft for the weekend warrior.

I'm runnin' schedule 40 on my DD and it is smoother than the old stock tube I replaced. You just have to be sure you get it real straight.

I'm subscribing....
I dented and subsequently tweaked my rear d shaft the other week. I just got a replacement fro cruiserparts but holy crap it's rusted....
Local fab man PainlessFab is going to re-tube my original dented one and hopefully it'll be balanced enough to use again for DD.

Might be an option.

How is the pipe seemed?

Rough? or smooth like you would find on HREW or DOM?

Thanks for the help...

I don't recall a visible seem...

This thing is strong enough that I've had the full rear weight of the vehicle sitting on it a few times with no damage. I do know that if you fall on it hard enough it will just snap the u-joint istead of damaging the whole shaft.
