I have been trying to find a replacement heater core for a 1988 bj74. The part number is 87107-90K00. It cross reference to a number of 70 series used into the early 2000s. I can't seem to find one any where. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a tip. Put the part number ,nothing else, into Google and see what turns up. jp-carparts.com have them for sale, never dealt with them though.
Have you tried Beno or Cruserdan?

I have a few heater cores that'l suit 70 series 85-89 SWB & MWB models , I'm in New Zealand though.
Hit me up if you get stuck finding one closer to home

If lhd 70 series heater cores are the same I have a few of these in Texas.

Send me a pm if you are interested.

Joe

The core itself is same. There are half moon fittings that hold the right or left firewall pass through tubes in place. They may ba a bit crusty but a lhd core can be swapped in. Several hour project-the dash has to come apart.

If flow is issue try an oxalic acid/washing soda wash-google gm heater service and oxalic aka wood bleach.

If a leak, you need a new core.

It's a leak. And the dash is already apart. Which once you get the hang of it can be done pretty quick. I also axed the copper tubes from the core to the firewall and found flexible reinforced heater hose since getting the half moons and the alignment back through the firewall is a PITA.

Joekatana sending pm now
