Hi all,
My mechanics informed me that most of the wiring in Golden Boy, a 1991 HZJ75, is either missing or toast. I'm thinking it would be best to try to replace the entire loom rather than repair or add to what is there. I'm looking up in Sharjah for a complete used loom too, but I'd prefer to buy new. Here's Golden Boy's data plate:

I've searched the forums and looked at the places suggested, but have not found any joy yet. Does anyone have suggestions for where I can get a newly-manufactured loom for Golden Boy:

(And does anyone know how to edit the subject line of an existing thread? Now that the truck has a name I'd like to mention that in the thread where I'm talking about the truck.)

I haven't had any luck finding wiring looms for the old trucks. I found some takeoff cab back wiring loom from like a mid 2000's gas model pickups. I am using one of these on my 1985 truck, had to change some ends around and such but I think it will work. Next week hope to be able to test it and see if everything works. Beno would probably be your best source on what is available and not.

Hello,

It is possible it was discontinued. Maybe a 79 Series harness.

What about Aussie wreckers or eBay Australia?

All of the wiring for that frame number are discontinued new OEM from Toyota. You will either have to salvage what is available or have the necessary wiring harnesses made for you.

As stated above, you can try wreckers in the GCC or in Australia to find used ones.

Thank you all for the replies. I spoke with my mechanic more about this and he seemed happy to take a stab at re-doing the wiring. I'm pretty particular about wiring but I don't mind re-doing it myself again back in Virginia at leisure. I've taken on too many projects here in Dubai and I won't try to do it myself while the truck is here.

I'd work a bit harder on finding a used loom in Sharjah before letting a local mechanic take a stab at it... you're going to end up with a lot of poor splices and electrical tape hiding things. Just sayin'.
