I could easily take my truck to a diesel specialist but it would take a day or two to have the injectors rebuilt if they are busy, or no parts in stock. I wonder what the cost of new or rebuilt injectors would be if I were to buy them. Its been seven years since my last rebuild. The fuel economy has dropped from 28 mpg to 21 mpg. Compression is still excellent!

So anyone know of suppliers I can just buy some injectors for the 3b motor?

Thanks :)

The injector place said also that the injectors needed to be timmed. Does this mean the injectors spring pressure is changed to allow proper spray timing when the piston is at the correct ATDC angle?

So this place at http://www.nwfuel.ca/ can do it for 70.00 per unit. That does not include R&R labor of the injectors out of the head.

Thanks :)

I'm sure yotahead has some, and search "cost of 3b injector rebuild"
That thread had a link to an injector shop in Portland recommended by lynchmob that was great to me.

I decided to go local. I think it would be a good idea to buy and hold onto a 3b injector rebuild kit in the event you take your truck to a shop and they have not outsourced the injectors. BTW, what does it take to rebuild the injectors? just changing out the internal parts? I think the injectors also need to be shimmed but only with a pressure gauge and hand pump?

Had injectors rebuilt two days ago at 460.00. So with a mix of city and highway driving getting 23 mpg. The engine has 460km on it. Compression is near new. Does this sound normal fuel economy numbers?
