Hi All - This is my first post and will clarify that I have used search.

I'm currently working on building / restoring an FZJ80 I bought last year (more on that later as it's getting a full repaint), and was curious to find out if any members had experience with sound and heat insulation alternatives. While I've seen that many members prefer Dynamat / Dynaliner (such as the amazing build from @Overland Tailor), I wanted to find out others' experience using and applying other insulation brands and materials. I noticed that @citadel used SoundDeadenerShowdown.com, but that individual has now retired. I've found a few on alternatives on Amazon that look promising, have great reviews, and are much less expensive (Doico, Kilmat, Mat66, and uxcell to name a few).

Any help / guidance would be appreciated as I'm looking to get this 80 back to where it belongs - rock solid reliable and on the trails.

Thanks!

I used noico Noico Solutions official site - Sound deadening, deadener, noise insulation I installed the 50 mil sound deadener (they didn’t offer the 80 mil they have now) and the 150 mil insulation on my floor. Overall I’m happy with the product. I will use it again on the roof when I do my headliner. If you haven’t done it already use dry ice to get the old sound deadener out. It makes the job so much easier.
