Folks, my current seat covers are fading really bad, plus the rear one doesn't really fit that well. I saw the latest incarnation of Specter's Tuff Duck seat covers at the Roundup and *really* liked them, but they were grey, looking for some first-hand experience (pics would be great, too) of someone who owns the brown ones. Looking to hear about fit, wear, how close the brown matches Toyota's Funkadelic interior....

Never too late to start the Father's Day campaign, it's either seat covers or a winch rope!

plain brown?

i've got the desert camo (which they apparently don't offer any more) and mine have been used hard the last four years. they're just now starting to show wear (they faded long ago from repeated washings). i've been extremely pleased with them and if they still offered the desert camo would be planning on purchasing another set

I have the tan ones, and they look fine in my tan Cruiser. Fit is excellent, no wear problems so far (about 3 years).

i'm thinking of them myself. I was afriad that they might be a little loose, being a slipcover.
did any of you use ne SOR seat bottoms?

I purchased the brown one's about a year ago. I really like them since the material looks like pretty tuff stuff. My only complaint would be just what MJM said the material isn't very breathable so in summer day's it tend's to a little sweatty but doesn't really bother me to be honest. I'll try to take a few pics later on today and post them up.

I have grey ones in my rig. Love 'em. They fit/look excellent. Most people who ride in my truck for the first time comment on the upholstery. They are usually surprised when I tell them they are slip covers, and tend to say things like "I've never seen covers that fit so well." They do make my back sweat, but it was worse when they were new. Seems to not be as bad when they get broken in. I do wish they still sold them with the logo on them though. Those were cool.

Specter is also making a vinyl set now. I recently installed the whole set (front and back) along with new bottom foam and seat heaters :) in the front. I'm really happy with this set up.

The Tuff Duck's are just that very durable. I have the tan ones and they're a close match to the tan on the door panels. I noticed SOR no offers a dark brown which IMO I think would look nicer. My only complaint is that the bottom portion does tend to slip out of place, I need to adjust it once a week or so, but really is no big deal. No issues with the back slipping. I live in a colder climate so I haven't had any issues with them being to hot; however, I can see how they would be in a warmer environment. Other than that, they are very nice and rugged, worth the purchase.

Wet Okoles?

Have you looked at the Wet Okoles? I have the Mocha with Dark Brown piping and they really fit great. We are very happy with the color against the existing interior. I have yet to deal with a summer but do not anticipate a problem because I'm in Montana. One thing about the Wet Okoles, they have a strong smell (rubbery/skunky). Hoping that this will pass with time. You can get a Landcruiser Logo with the Wet Okoles.

I had a set of Wet Okoles. Expensive, looked great, fit fine. Lasted less than 3 years, they faded badly, and abraded at all high friction areas. Not what I expected for the price paid.

Seat covers, like wheels, have been sort of an "Achilles Heel" on my Cruiser, three sets so far and none that I've been totally happy with.

I had the brown ones. You're talking about the upholstery kit, not the slipcovers, right? They fit like a glove, especially if you spring for the bottom seat foam. The brown works pretty good, it kinda matches the dash pad and dark parts of the door. The only complaint I had was that they weren't breathable, but they did hold up very well.

wet okoles arent' worth the money on a vehicle that doesnt' spend it's time without a top in foul weather (and even then, i' question them). they DO fade horribly quick, the slighest grease on your hand becomes a smudge that is impossible to get out, they tear easy.

yes, they do fit great and they keep the seat dry (at the expense of your butt)

I've had the SOR ducks in two cruisers, great, dog proof, they do fit tight on the back seat, washable, I do every year or so. Only have the rear ones in this 60, let the front set stay in my last 62.

Have Sheep Skin in the front, cool in summer warm in winter. I like them too. probably get duck again when they wear out (the sheep skins) in 5 years or so
