Anybody have these fender flares?

I'm not a big fan on flares because dirt and sh!t get stuck behind it causing rust over years. If I ran wide wheels rubber flares would be my choice as the glass flares can get torn off in tight places.

I have a set sitting here that I bought used. Never got around to installing them. The nice thing about them is they mount from underneath the fender and dont sit against the body panel trapping moisture and causing rust like other flares

I've got some of the rubber flare material (reinforced with a metal rod).
I'm not quite sure how I will deal with the area where flare meets the mud flap.
I need the mud flaps to stay on as they provide needed length and width.

One mud flap has been back-ordered from Pluto so I am waiting and thinking of other methods.

I had those for from the same manufacturer for my 60. They require drilling and will contribute to rust. I removed them and ended up with spray on bed liner - not recommended

When the flares were removed from my BJ71 the underlying rust and crud convinced me to never use them again.

Would a gasket, like the 80 has, minimize?
I would think any material (gasket) would still trap moisture and in my opinion the risk outweigh the benefits. I know people that simply remove the flares from time to time to clean and inspect which isn't necessary if they're not installed in the first place.

Even the "well sealed and fitted" 80 factory flares trap water and dirt to a degree. Any time you have more than one layer of something you run the risk of foreign substances getting in between.

You pays your money and takes your pick.

I still want to put flares on my BJ74 but I want the OEM version.

To answer the question in the first post I believe the flares that Shes mad put on his BJ74 LHD conversion were that same variety. I think SteveTheDog now has that vehicle.

Factory fit nice and can easily unbolt for cleaning once a year or so

I removed mine, and seam sealed the rivets holding the brackets - sealed the brackets where they mate to the body too. I reinstalled the flares with stainless socket/cap bolts. I also sprayed fluid film in behind the flare. There's lots of access to do this. Lots of access means they are a great mud trap too but a garden hose with high pressure nozzle will blow the mud out after a days' outing.

They wrap the wheel arch so all paintwork is protected from rocks thrown up from tires. Best option in my opinion
