Me and shrek60 took a little day trip out from Benton Hot Springs last Saturday across the border into the high country of Nevada. Somewhere past Montgomery Pass, we took off into the mountains and spent a few hours exploring.

We were in and out of treeline the whole time, about the 7,000 foot elevation. None of the routes looked like they had been traveled recently, and the artifacts we found weren't all shot up like the ones in Kali...except this one!

This is wild mustang country. We saw one chestnut-colored mustang right away, but didn't see any others during the day, except for this poor fellow.

and we pulled out three illegal claim markers. ANY TIME you see one of these plastic tubes with NO CAP on top, know that it is illegal because it is a hazard to birds, who once they fall in, are unable to open their wings to get back out. We found this poor fellow in the bottom of the first one we pulled.
