I just swapped out my 3 on the tree for a 4 on the floor and everything was going well until I went to take off from a stop sign and I couldnt get the shifter into any gear. It was just stuck in neutral. I could move it all around but it would push into a gear slot. After a few pumps of the clutch pedal and some forcing of the shifter it went into gear. It has hapened since and its kind of scary. Im worried one time it wont go into gear period. So does anyone know what causes this or how I can fix it?
Thanks

Andy

Is your clutch working properly? I would start with making sure when you press the pedal that the slave moves the clutch fork. Sounds like your master or slave is toast. Any brake fluid on the firewall or around the slave? You say you went from 3 on the tree to 4 on the floor, did you swap in a 4speed also?

Buy a new clutch master cylinder and slave and adjust them properly.

Not sure if you also changed clutch or not. If you did, you may now also have to re-adjust slave cylinder to get full clutch disengagement. Also, slave cylinders can bypass internally where there is no external leak to be seen, yet the slave cylinder is leaking internally (by-passing). In this case, slave cylinder replacement is obvious.

Hey guys the clutch and master and slave are all good. The issue is coming from inside the transmission. The shifter just locks and I have to roll a bit or push up and down on the clutch in the hopes that the input shaft moves just a hair to free up the shifter. Whats going on here? Do I need to put in a new tranny?

Thanks

Andy
