I don't think I said this b4 but thanks grey for all your help!!! :D

i would certainly check your o2 sensors and also consider the fuel pump.

Farroffroad;
Thanks, but we really haven't diagnosed your problem, just identified one potential cause. If you find burned up, broken, shorted wires you may have found the cause. On the other hand, it may be just one other thing that hasn't happened yet. From my own experience in having a burned wire causing the engine to die, and some others on the forum with similar kinds of odd behavior (in the engines that is), it is definitely one place we all should look at, and at least fix before it gets worse. IMHO.

Before going down the harness avenue - try the fuel pump relay - I replaced mine which had similar issues... fixed it.

There is a thread on here by some genius(I can't remember who it was) on how to clean the contacts on the fuel pump relay which may be an easy way to detrmine if this is the issue without buying a new one?

good point.

My next step would be to check the muffler bearings. :D

Well finally got in to the harness and NO wires where melted just the conduit around it. So that was NOT the problem after all!:doh:

However we unplugged the vaccum line on the fuel regulator and it runs perfect now:confused:! Is it possible that the regulator is the problem? Or does that mean it's fuel injectors or pump???

Any thoughts???

Does the outside conditions have any effect on when the truck bogs down? I would guess if it's not fuel filter related, then it is something EVAP related such as a bad gas cap or plugged cannister.
Do you mean weather?....No

I will look into the bad cap, EVAP and cannister....this 80 has a bad dent in it from wheeling do you think that could have anything to do with it. It only makes the truck hold like 1 gal less. I have looked in the tank and everything looks real good...see pics.
