got a chance to work on something offroad, but not 4wd, or toyota. . . .


friend of a friend had some problems with getting a motor conversion going in his sand car. or the other people who he was paying did.

pics sort of out of order, but oh well.

came to me with a crank, no fire condition.
PCM wasnt making injector pulse.
did some troubleshooting, the troubleshooting said the PCM was failed or tripping.
so they sent another PCM before figuring out that their programming software wasnt working right.

so i got the FOURTH PCM. car would run but no idle. after talking with the programmers, i went back and found where the last "mechanic" removed the EGR piping, and then didnt cap the huge vacuum leak.

so after fixing the leak and tidying up a few other loose ends i sent her home.

turns out the tuners program wasnt shutting off the GM anti theft BS, guess who figured that out for them. ( i wonder how many other bad tunes they sent out )
