Got 2 friends, neither of whom cares to forumize, who would like lifts on their FJC's. Neither goes offroad. One is looking at cheap simpleness, something like spacers and rear coils, I saw a 3" kit for this, no struts needed?. The other guy needs new front struts, dealer wants $800, told him he could get an OME complete kit with struts for that much. Any recommends for a shop or person to handle the installs? TIA

Some of the 3" spacer lifts come with new, longer rear shocks. The front is just a spacer that sits on top of the coilovers, the rear is a donut spacer that sits over the spring.

OME will run you about 700 for full kit, minus installation.
For install you are looking at about 4-5 hours of labor.

Don't know of any shops in that area though, sorry.

I just did my Expedition. IFS is IFS... I wouldn't mind helping as long as the time frame isn't too pressed.

There's no 'helping'- these guys want turnkey. This would be a business transaction, rather than a wrenching party.

I have done many FJC lifts. Problem is, I will not do this for pay.

Maybe Kevin wants to take this on?? I can help if any particulars are needed

FYI: CBT can do either lift.

A) FJC Spacer lift $500. + tax (includes alignment)

B) FJC 2.5" OME suspension lift with struts, shocks, 4 coil springs, installed, alignment: $1274. + tax

C) Add the Manafre uniball upper control arms to above lift (B) to achieve better alignment, handling, stability, tire clearance (yes, weve tried with and without - makes a difference) add $898.00 (B+C= $2172 + tax)

If desired, we can also add the extended S.S. brake lines for B or C above for additional $249.

High Quality, precision manufactured Uniball upper front control arms for your FJ Cruiser from Man-A-Fre. If you’ve already installed a lifted suspension on your FJ you know the problem, steering wander, poor tracking and a general feel of instability. The reason for this is simple, when you lift an FJ Cruiser the front suspension looses its’ Caster angle and the front suspension geometry is out of whack. This results in the poor handling characteristics listed above. Man-A-Fre now offers a simple to install solution, that corrects the FJ Cruisers’ front suspension geometry. These control arms are dramatically stronger than the units they replace, and offer less resistance to motion than the OEM arms. Arms are manufactured from high strength 4130 Chrome Moly tubing, with a precision manufactured spherical ball cup that holds a heat treated, stainless steel, Teflon lined spherical bearing with a radial static load rating of 104,000 lbs. and an axial load rating of 19,300 lbs. Custom stainless steel misalignment bushings for a perfect fit. Arms are precision Tig welded to extremely tight tolerances to insure proper alignment . Greasable polyurethane bushings feature grease slots cut into the interior bore to keep them lubricated.
