Definitely not a drop in swap, but doable. The 94 4runner i have with 1 KZ swap started life with a 22re. It takes a bit more fab work in regards to motor mounts and fitting the motor in the right spot, but can definitely be done and the 1KZ-TE is definitely worth the extra work when compared to a 2LTE swap.
