I have 2 panels and sometimes use a single, and other times the double.
When using the 2 myself I always run them in series. You get move voltage in series and charging needs a minimum voltage amount.
You get more charge especially evening or morning a low light times.
I just use the panel connector to change from series to single they are easy to change.
You only need the single controller. The MTTP.
