I know this will fall on deaf ears here.. Bleeding brakes should be part of regular maintenance.

Dot3 absorbs moisture from the atmosphere which ends up in the highest concentrations at the lowest point. If you bleed your four brakes once a year, just a couple pumps each. Your callipers won’t rust and freeze up so you won’t have to do near as much brake work.

But...I prefer just changing all the seized/leaking calipers and leaking rusty master every 10 years....LOL!

Yeah, one of those things I know I should be doing but never get to often enough. :facepalm: Just like coolant flush, power-steering flush, ATF flush, diffs, t-case....
 
Ya I think it's supposed to be flushed every second year... I must admit I only really do it when Im servicing other brake components... Although the air powered suction contraption makes it pretty easy to do now days...

Vacuum bleeding is a real game changer.

As it is, I bribe Mel with a beer whenever I need to bleed the brakes.

After 25 years of bribing it would have been cheaper to buy one of those pneumatic contraptions 🤣

My experience is mixed to be honest, for flushing its fantastic and quick, for bleeding my experience is that you need to first get fluid all the way through the system, and having a helper is pretty useful.

Usually to bleed i hook it up to furthest point, fill the brake fluid, crack a bleeder then jump in the truck and pump a bit checking the level regularly. Once the fluid gets through the lines it goes quickly, but mine doesn't seem to just suck it through without some pumping until the fluid is all the way through. Usually to finish i recruit the wife and do the last few pumps the old fashioned way to confirm there's no bubbles left.

If someone has some better process or tips I'm keen to hear them! I honestly thought it was broken when I first used it as I expected to be able to just hook it up and bleed the whole system from the wheel side...

It's also very useful for emptying reservoirs before changing a master etc...
