Just got a new OME suspension for my 80, and need help with the install. Anybody available during a weekend. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and rewarded with a hefy lunch with the beverage of your choice:). I live in the San Gabriel Valley.

My wrenching skills are limited, but I learn fast and have all the tools needed.

Wanna fly me out there?

Or, you can drive to Iowa....

Victor,

Exactly what OME suspension components are you planning to install?

The shocks and springs are a 1 banana if you don't have problems like rusty bolts which shouldn't be an issue where you live. You can read the instructions on Christo's site and ask questions here. Details on the install have been covered several times but we can discuss it again if that will make you more comfortable doing the work yourself.

The steering stabilizer is much easier if you have a proper puller. The caster bushings are probably something you'll want to have done by a shop with a 20+ ton press. Hopefully you bought everything from Slee offroad so you have the bushing installation tool.

Victor, it also would help to know what OME lift you got and if you are going to attempt to install the castor correction bushings during this party as well. If you're just trying to install the 4 springs and shocks and steering stabilizer someone might be able to find the time to assist. If the lift requires the castor correction you should be sourcing someone to press them in for you.

Thanks for the responses guys, maybe I'll just suck it up and do this myself. I'm installing the full medium duty OME suspension which includes the castor correction, I did not buy it from Slee, bought it at http://www.rocky-road.com/80series.html and ofcourse it doesn't come with the castor tool.

Anybody have one handy I'll buy from you :)

Victor, check with Simon at Faultline in San Dimas (http://www.faultlinefab.com/contact.html). He pressed in mine. Also, Man-A-Fre has to be pretty close too and they might do it depending on their schedule. Hit someone on this list or the 80scool (NorCal & SoCal) to borrow Christo's press tool. I don't have one but it will make whoever does it much happier. Start dousing everything now with the PBblaster!

Thanks Mike, I'll probably do that. What parts in particular do you recommend that I hit with PBblaster. I've already hit the visable bolts on the springs.

Simon, said he could do it for $80

Lower rear shock bolts have been an issue with some. Can't hurt to hit all the front lower control arm bolts either.
Glad Simon could do it.
Mike

Thanks Mike, I appreciate your help. Since Simon is installing them do I still need the castor correction tool?
