So we're back from our trip to Yellowstone from West LA. We had to cut it short because of some terrible weather up there, ending up adding 2,354 miles to the 80 in seven days
. The rig gulped 143.5 gallons, mostly on the I-15, amounting to 16.4 MPG wich I think is not too bad.
Interestingly enough, got the worst mileage (14.3 MPG) on the 15 between Vegas and LA, and the best (19.5 MPG) in Yellowstone NP, where the speed limit is 45 mph, but where there're a lot of stops and gos (look at that bison! Look at that mule deer!) I'd say 20 MPG is within reach @ 55 MPH.
As far as reliability is concerned, the 80 was top notch. We didn't experience a single mechanical problem. I just added half a quart of oil and a quart of coolant and the rig is gracefully on its way to 132,000 miles.
And on a sour note, I think I filled up at less than $4/gal for the last time in my life during that trip...

Overheating? No, geyser!
