first dont be so hard on the PO - indeed if he / she wasnt suchan idiot - they would have known better to not part with the best car in the world....

anyways on to serious matters -
seen there has been a rash of posts about car audio wiring and several mudders are without harness...
in that the PO has "lobotmized" the OEM harness to "jimmy-rig" their car audio setup....

never fear - baseflsh is here to guide you to the promise land....

remember - there are 3 harness - small - med - large.
the large goes to the factory AMP - the small and medium are for aftermarket systems -
most likely it will be these 2 smaller harnesses that will be "Cut" and gone.

here are your two harnesses and the wires close up...

here is the breakdown...

red & white = Right Rear Speakers

black & yellow = Left Rear Speaker

white/green = Nothing (can be capped)

lime & blue = Right Front Speaker

peach & lavender ** = Left Front Speaker

brown - silver = Ground.

blue/yellow - = 12V constant

green - silver = illumination / dimmer

red/black & lavender ** = 12v turn on - from previous posts - i am deducting that there are 2 of these
1 for the OEM amp and 1 for the antennea motor.

grey = 12v ignition

indeed there are two lavender wires - in the end you may have to use the D battery trick
(tapping both with the peach wire to find out which one goes to the speaker - if you hear the speaker pop -simply mark the wire for future reference).

My PO is still an idiot:slap:

White and green is also illumination. There are two illumination wires, one positive and one negative. Green-white is positive and White-green is negative.

Another way to "fix" the hacked factory harness is to simply by pass the factory harness and amp. If you are installing a better HU you want to do that anyways so you end up extending the aftermarket harness to your HU from the factory harness by the glove box. Most idiot POs can't make it that far. :)

Severe OCD method:

Obtain the whole wire loom without the connectors butchered. Open the dash and replace. No more butcher pigtails

You can also get the crimp on connectors and just put an OEM connector on

Here's how both options are wired:

The second "lavender" (Violet in the EWD) wire goes to the antenna ECU and is used for the antenna auto up feature. Not sure if all years have this.

This is another common Toyota radio connector pinout. The 80 does not have this plug, but this could be handy if you're trying to install another Toyota radio with the 20 pin externally amplified connector:
