Call me a nerd,:meh:Been following this since last week.

Normally these guys are pretty reserved in the forcast discussion, but this one looks like we may finally be blessed with some moisture.

Hope they are spot on...Check prev. discussion..

National Weather Service - NWS Tucson

Call me a nerd,:meh:

:flipoff2:....NERD!

it seems the weather guys are all a-twitter being able to report anything other than "sunny and dry". From station to station, the reports on Monday were varying from each other. They must be placing bets on who will be more accurate.

At least I was able to shut off my watering system this week

Hold on to your hats folks!
This is not going to be fun if they are right..

Just for reference; Last night we had a 50kt jet (don't worry about what it means, just note the number), which gave us 35-45mph winds in the valleys and 60-69mph at higher elevations (sierra vista, btw had 69mph).
The storm on Dec7-8 had a 70kt jet which produced 50-65mph in the valleys and 70-90mph at higher elevations (the wind machine at Mt Grahm measured a gust of 85mph when it broke).
Tomorrow night's storm is forcast to have an 80kt jet which translates to 60-70mph gusts in the valleys and hurricane force winds on mountain peaks (90+).
There were alot of roofs in Oracle that said 'adios amigo' from the December storm.

It's quite windy where I am now too. I've been checking out weather.com's radar, think there might be a tornado brewing around Pine now? Took a "Print screen" of a the radar. Is this a tornado?

Could be, I only know what a funnel cloud looks like from the ground.:meh:

There was just been a tornado watch issued for Pima and Pinal counties as well.

Just took a nice spanking in New River!

Took these on my way home in '08. There were three funnels total, but only got a shot of this one. My son just called me and said "dad, the sky looks really wierd up here".

I should clarify: It's way windy here. Wondering if I still own sunscreens and a tile roof...

Have to admit I'm a weather junkie, too. Up here in Pinetop I get giddy when snow is forecast. Woke up at 5 the other morning just to see how much it snowed! Then went and got stuck taking the "shortcut" home from work. Wouldn't have been too bad, but I just lost my winch last week trying to pull out a friend of mine that broke through the ice of a shallow pond crossing.:o Anyway, we've got about 18-24 inches so far and expecting that much more tomorrow. Up at Sunrise Ski resort, NWS is calling for major snow--up to 9 feet today through Saturday! White 80 is my friend in pond. Other two pics of me with wheels spinning freely in deep ruts while axle housings hold me up. Now I gotta figure out how to tell if my solenoids are bad or if I burned up my winch motor:mad:.

Looks like fun. Also reminds me of (I believe it was Spike), doing some road improvements for the indians.

Wet week; 2.5 inches in the last 24 hours and 4.5 inches for the week's event respectively with more on the way.

BTW, if your weather radio isn't working, just checked the noaa/twc website, guess the transmitter on Mt Lemon is down, (probably down in San Manuel, lol).

Just made a run to the Oracle Market and saw this view of the North side of the Catalinas, thought it was worthy enough to share.

Nice! I'm planning on being in Tucson next week, maybe the Mt. Lemmon slopes will still be open for some snowboarding.

Make sure you load the chainsaw..;):D

FWIW, I have a good view of the ski hill, you can see it in the pic.

Lots of rain at my house last night. Thankfully the winds were mellow. We sat out on the back porch with Yogi and his wife, drinking beers and smoking cigars.
