So are there any TRD Superchargers left?

Nothing wrong with them, but at $7635 before shipping and install and then you still have to find someone who knows what the hell to do with Xede engine management.

Reading this document the Xede seems a lot like the AEM FIC's. In fact is seems far less refined than the AEM FIC 8 that I tried initially. I am convinced that our ECU's are not the same as the 80's in Australia.

After shipping, 1-2 days install, and dyno tuning you are looking at $10k

And then after all that you are only looking at a 47% increase in torque and a 60% increase in hp.

Whats wrong with these http://www.bulletcars.com/superchar...tre-6-cylinder-1fzfe-supercharger-system.html or what about Sprintex, are they not around anymore ? For the price I would think somebody could offer a decent turbo kit.

My no-rust Cali '97 SC LX went unsold for months by previous owner - mainly, as he put it, because people were just interested on whether it had factory locking diffs. I wanted a few things: Clean, White, Virgin Roof. That it came dealer-supercharged was a bonus. I figured I could always add lockers at a later time. I'm glad I pulled the trigger. First drive and I was like WHOA, this thing is fast. I have to be careful, it's so easy to chirp the tires. And now, with the OME 861/862 springs, it's fricken awsum. I keep meaning to do the 0-60 thing.
After purchase I found it had been talked about on the forum - but, lucky for me, there were no takers.
I need to add that I owe a lot to all the good folks here on mud who give so freely of their time, knowledge and expertise - THANK YOU.

I can attest to the fact that the AUS engines have different emissions systems (thus likely ECU programming). Back when the AUS dollar was about 0.65 to the US dollar I bought the Bullet Racing headers (although shipping killed the $ savings). I had to die grind a recess in the header flange that went to the EGR for my engine...apparently they don't need an EGR system for emissions 'down unda'.

By the way, Magnuson made the TRD superchargers for Toyota...perhaps they have some additional info if you contact them: http://www.magnacharger.com/

Maybe if there is enough of a demand, they will put out their own SC package or start supplying to Toyota again?

I just send these guys a email. Maybe if we can get enough mud members that want these to email they might produce their own package! It worked for Weathertech mats. It's worth a shot here too.

I just hope that for the ~15 people who benefitted from Shaman & Apprentice's work that we don't see overpriced kits in the FS section, all mysteriously missing the "Bill flange".

And I'm glad I only entertained the thought of selling mine for less time than my boxer (dog) will "stay" when he's told.

You are just shy of an E-rod (LSX crate motor, 50 state legal) at that price, and far more power and oh yeah, far better parts availability.

So, today i received a email back from Magnuson Superchargers. They are going to contact Toyota to lobby for another production run of the superchargers or possibly offer a kit themselves. They informed me that this may take a couple of months before they can give a definitive answer from Toyota. So in the meantime I think I will organize a thread to gauge the interest. However I would like to ask you guys if I should start a new thread or modify this one?

Let see if we can get 100 mudders to commit. Sign me up for 3.

Would a new run of the same supercharger require any development or engineering costs, or would Toyota just send an order to the original manufacturer to make up a new batch using the original blueprints?

It's going to be spec'd by TRD if Toyota is involve. Any issue or issues with the original specs?

I would like one. I live at 6300' and am at 7-8000' a lot so I could use the increased power and torque of the TRD SC.
I almost pulled the trigger last June but I was a little short on cash and would have had to put in on a credit card...Toyota told me the had "plenty" so I thought I'd wait until I had the cash. Now I wish I had put it on the card. Again, count me in!!

Thanks for contacting the manufacturer too and getting this going. We did the same with Weather Tech and got them to remake 80 floor mats!!
