So are there any TRD Superchargers left?

It'd hard for any company to turn down a guaranteed quarter million in gross revenue.

It'd be impossible to get 70 Mudders on board to generate that kind of guaranteed revenue.

this is a great opportunity for some entrepreneurship on Toyota's behalf. maybe if we put together a Kickstarter campaign along with the petition they'd be convinced and act.. Mudders would have to put their money where their mouths are

When there were only 10, then 5 or 3 TRD SC's available it still took time for them to disappear.
People don't want something until it's not available.
Even if one pops up, people balk at the price.

The people that genuinely wanted one, bought one.

If you want forced induction, start buying turbo parts while you still can.

I'm sure a lot of us are in the same boat. I drug my feet on the last batch of superchargers thinking that they would always be available, now I am kicking myself for not buying one. I am even willing to pay as much as a new one would have cost me to get a used one. If TRD actually did produce another run of these I would be first in line.

If I was really cool I would just put my truck on a transport to Colorado and have Slee do a 2uz conversion. I am actually starting to justify this in my head. Convincing the :princess: on the other hand is a different story.

They'd have no problem selling them due to how quickly the remainder sold out. There has to be another reason they discontinued them

There were ten or eleven in the system for many, many months, as I had a stop-limit order with esteemed vendors when inventory ran low.

In those many months, three sold, leaving seven.

Within a week to ten days after checking with said esteemed vendors, all seven sold.....and I'd bet cash money on who bought.

They didn't sell out that quickly....both the Shaman and his protege concurring that there wasn't much to worry about, as far as inventory levels were concerned, catching the both by surprise when the last seven sold in said, short period.

Don't know total SC production numbers, nor total 95-97 FZJ80s in the US, but bet it's a fractional percentage comparatively speaking, and support is nearing the end, anyway.

Just glad I found my NIB SC, even after NLA status was announced.

this is a great opportunity for some entrepreneurship on Toyota's behalf.

Toyoda's entrepreneurial stage ended 1937-1938.

Considering the new image in the US and disregard for the worldwide industrial sectors requests on other TLCs, that the sales of prolly outpace ours by 50 to 1, I'm kinda thinking they ain't too concerned about the headaches involved with even the minuscule profit selling ten 1FZ SCs on twenty year old vehicles.

An entrepreneurial spirit might look to Oz or the ME and package a US market product with superior performing "kits" that there's consistent supply of, or even repro the TRD kit in small volumes.

Toyota is as concerned with profits originating from NLA SCs as they are bringing 7X diesels or 105s to the US.

Maybe we should talk.

Lemme do you a favor, friend.

Think about this for a few days before chatting with me about the uber rare, NLA, big buck one point pink unicorn SC.

It'd pain me to see someone else make a rash, expensive, impulse buy, that they later regretted.

Can buy an entire 80 with an SC for less......but I also have a NIB 1FZ short block that's gonna complement the SC, and even a NIB odometer for the deserving 80 that's rebuilt with these components.

Bahahahaha.

i'm not optimistic, but there's never harm in trying

Spending $5k to get a TRD supercharger that is no longer supported is awfully silly IMO, if you want a SC why don't you get that same list of 5-10 people have a brand new more efficient twin screw compressor picked out and make your own kit and the 10 of you split the R&D costs.

If I were to add HP to mine, I'm following scottryana's lead........ Turbo and intercooler with meth injection!

That would be cool.

So if we organize a thread to do this, do we have a contact at Toyota TRD to bring the request forward?
Not me personally but I know someone who might be able to help.
