LCR4WD, Slee, MetalTech, IPOR, CruiserOufitters, CruiserSolutions, and probably a handful of others on that list that I didn't realize represent the ARB product line...

happy shopping :D (and don't forget the installation pics!!)

ARB has their snorkel on their web page. Must be ready to start to ship. When can we purchase and were if anyone knows yet.

I could find no reference to this on either the usa site, or the australian site. Care to share the link?

Ok I see it. Dunno why I didn't find it earlier. However I was supposed to go to work and was in a hurry. :D

Thanks, I'm ordering one!

I checked with ARB, and they are not going to have them til mid-October.

Ok the guy at ARB said I could go to an ARB dealer and put in an order. So I went down to 4 Wheel Parts and got laughed at. No order.

ARB needs to either crap or get off the pot. People are waiting on this stuff. It cannot be THAT hard to build an FJ version of this thing.

My "ARB authorized dealer" also had not heard anything from them about the snorkel...

actually....given the way the front fenders are designed with the body, it might be....most snorkles are "protected" by wider fenders or flares (ie: on the 40 or the 80) but the FJC doesn't easily allow the fender to remain the widest point of the rig....

A few of us on the Trail Team have spent time with the FJ ;) and have a hard time seeing just how they will do it and not end up with the snorkle sticking out from the body and end up being a first-contact point for damage.

Drill a 4" hole just in front of the A Pillar on the passengers side and run a tube inside there. That's the way the other snorkel brand has done on some Land Rovers.

Oh yeah, I'd rip that thing right off on the trails. Maybe not a concern for the west coast drivers, but on this side of the Mississippi, there are trees and things to contend with. Also it should hug the A-pillar more. That gap at the top is just going to collect low hanging vines, branches, weeds etc. I think I'll pass on this mod, as 28" of water fording is enough for my style.

I think that option has been explored by others and there is too much going on in that area to effectively place the intake through that spot.

Also, I think someone actually pulled the far passenger hood vent out to see if that was feasible and declared that it was not.

Gotta agree whole-heartedly on that. It would last about 100 yards on the right coast.

Also, are you guys really doing water crossings that deep? I've had water over my hood on the my current and last three Jeeps and the intake was the least of the worries (the grill, radiator, bumper, etc. create a bow-wake that and leave a void or low spot ). It was the electronics... and later the tranny, dif's, t-case, etc.

I don't think that most people want it for the water fording. I myself would want it more for the dust and cold air intake. That is probably why it sticks out at the top.

That is the only reason I am getting it.
