So my snorkel came in today, and i was wondering if anyone has some good tips to save me any headaches???? (oh and its a Safari Snorkel) ;)

Thanx

ps: ive heard that sometimes the template doesnt work, solution??

Just make sure the template is secured in one spot while you are marking the holes, because if you move it the smallest amount, you might throw it off. It took me a few hours to put the snorkel on and get everything right. I had never done anything like this and I didn't think I could do it, but the hardest part was putting holes in my car...made me cringe

It really helps if you have someone to give you a hand and makes it go much faster. One thing I didn't do when I was putting it on was put silicone around all the hose ends to waterproof the places where they connected, but I went back and did it a few days later. If I had to do it again, I could easily cut the time down by half.

Good luck,

Michael

Get an Australian 2F air cleaner assembly if you don't already have a solution for routing to the passenger side. I got mine from SOR.

Hey guys, Andrew is from Canada, probability is high that his is a diesel, and doesn't need to worry about the complicated routings that us gassers do.

I don't have the part #'s but if you call SOR and tell them what you are doing they will give you all the details.

Actualy it is gas, I got it form Houston Texas. Im not too worried about re-routing the air box, the biggest thing for me was to try and find an adapter to adapt a factory air box on my webber card, but i found it and it is on its way. (actualy the hardest thing about that was dealing with redline webber, i swear to god that not one single guy working there has a clue what they are doing!)

Since you have a cruiser, you obviously aren't an idiot!!

My sentiments exactly.

So what air cleaner assembly did you end up going with?

Not totaly done yet but im planning on using the stock air filter, i should get it done this weekend (as long as the adapter comes in), i will post pics when done!

Stock as in the canadian stock, right? Isn't that different than what was supplied in the states?

be sure to get proper sealed all system .. sometimes, we trust in a snorkel, but not allways properly installed.
