Well I recently picked up an ARB Bull Bar along w/ the Safari Snorkel. The bull bar went on w/ no issue. But the Snorkel doesn't come w/ anything to address the intake system. I was wondering if anyone knows or has info to a good write up or where I could get more information for installing the snorkel.

Thanks for help!

Steve

Arb safari snorkle

The Arb safari snorkle comes with a template to show you where to bore the hole for the intake pipe. the tools we used for cutting the inner and outer fenders was a hole punch and a hole saw. the punch did 90$ of the cutting with ease and then we wrestled the hole saw for the last little bit. Once youve got that the braket for mounting it on the winshield a pillar is simple. Under the hood there is a little more work. Youve got to run a flexible pipe from the snorkle to the air box. Electrical or hvac tubing works well but you either have to get a heat bender for electrical emt or use a dookie hvac tubing that is watter proof. Also you can use flexible plastic vacume tubes for wet/dry shop vacs. The stock intake hole for the air box is in the front of the box and the snorkle tubing hase to insert on the passenger side of the air box so youve got to take the air box out and weld a plate into the oridginal intake hole to watterproof it and use the same hole punch you used ealer to bore a new hole in the side of the box. Once youve done all that your done and done.
(also my buddie rigged up a watter tight box for his ignition coil to keep from drowning it but im not sure that its completly nesisary) Next time I can Ill get you some photos to point out the important parts.
All in all it took me and my friend about an hour to fit everything up.

Good luck!

Thanks Nate! I am going to try and take some pics and document so as to add to the FAQ section. Figure try to add more content to this section.

Thanks again.

On mine, Safari's Template was very inaccurate. After drilling the large Hole, I eventually did it this way: Twist the Studs into the back of the Snorkel, place the Snorkel against the Guard and check that it's lined up and then press against it, remove the Snorkel and you'll see where the Paint has been gouged, then with a Pen and a Ruler put a X through the Circle.

Both times I drownded my Hilux, the Water came in through the Air Box join, not the Intake. - I'm going to put a Donaldson Precleaner on the Snorkel, and bypass the Air Box completely. This is the Shnizzle.
