After a great service life, SMOKY has been retired, and SMOKY 2 is now in the shop, and having some build time to get it up to speed.
This will be a chance to make some more improvements, over SMOKY, and do afew things differently than V 1.0.
This truck will do local mountain camping trips, snow trips, lots of remote desert trips, so has to be an all rounder, as well as my current daily driver.
1 hr old [well, one hr after delivery....] the right hand one.
2013 Cement FJ Cruiser, 4.0 V6 5 sp auto with extra rear tank, and crawl control, rear locker [Aus Spec]
So into the shop, and lets do a strip and fit.
Suspension, which was first item on the agenda.
I decided on afew bits from ][CON, and had Omega 2.5 bypass shocks made for the rear which have 12.5" travel with a 40mm bump spacer for the compressed length, [We are doing bolt in bypasses for the FJ, the 80, 100 coming, and doing 200 as well]
Whilst apart we put some DBA T3 rotors, and some of our custom pads in to help stop the loaded truck on big tyres too.
In the front, 2.5 extended travel coil overs with CDC adjusters for low speed, and some 2.5 Omega bypass shocks for high speed, with some 700lb coils for the extra weight this thing will lug around.
Next, BMC, and some Method NV's with 35" MTRs.
