Ok, I'm searched and the consenus is if you go with a rebuilt smog pump from Autozone, checkers,Schucks, etc...you'll end up replacing it soon there after i.e. they don't last.

OEM is best' it will last another 20+ years.

I know a few of you have said they have had theirs "rebuilt". I know theirs a DIY in the tech section listing some universal parts, but for those that have sent their pumps out to get rebuilt where did you send them to?

I only found one place on the net: Rebuilding Factory: Your Part, Rebuilt, Fast!

I haven't had mine rebuilt by this guy, yet. I stopped by one day (near me) to ask if they do LC air pumps. Said yes, no problem. Place was clean and looked good. Guy was nice enough. I plan to send mine there to have it done, one of these days.

There was another rebuilder in Sante Fe, CA, I think it was moto parts, but he stopped doing it because he could only buy vanes in 50,000 unit lots. Also, his website no longer works, so...

NXLTACY (Joey) just had his rebuilt at a mechanic in Canoga Park, but they probably sent it out. You might PM him to find out more.
