Smittybilt XRC12

Just curious if any of you guys have any experience with this winch. It's rated at 12,000 pounds.

My uncle's wife got it for him and he is a Warn only guy so he gave it to me brand new in the box.

Going to install it sometime soon but just seeing if anyone here knows if it's even worth it or will it leave me stuck on the first or second use.

some discussions on those not too long ago IIRC.
Weren't they built by a middle of the road brand, like TMax or something like that?

They look like a T-Max or any other Chinese made winch, in fact I would bet the parts are exchangeable with a T-Max. I searched the forum and found a few good things about the XRC10 so I assume the 12 would be a decent bet as well.

I dropped my truck off today with the welder who is making my bumper, once I get it back next week I am going to mount it and take it out for a few tests, speed was the only complaint about the 10.

i have the xrc12 and have not run into problems yet. i have done a couple of pulls up hill and it performed really well. it's pretty slow though.

Great thanks! I have heard the XRC8 and 10 were pretty slow yet reliable but good to get a first hand perspective of the 12.

I got mine mounted, haven't used it other than playing with it around the house. Included is a picture mounted in my ARB bumper.
