Hey folks, need a recommendation on repairing a rust hole that has appeared in the body sill under the drivers door. Sanded back to paint but what looks like a circular weld from a previous repair fell out. I rather this not get too much worse. Recommendations?

shot it with some rust converter, will sand and hit it again then rattle can krylon rust inhibitor paint (white)

Cut out and replace with fresh metal. Spray cavity with cavity wax before welding patch on.

I had a similar small rust hole, thankfully mine was behind where the new bumper was going to go. Cut out around it, and pop-rivited in a piece of license plate... Sealed it with roofing tar.

Yes... I sometimes do things my own way.. I once replaced an entire trunk pan with a couple of pieces of sheet metal cut off the sides of an old kitchen range. Same pop-rivet and roofing tar. Was good enough to pass CT inspection...and allowed me to drive it without stuff falling out of the trunk and the cabin filling with exhaust fumes.

Sounds like a McGyver type fix. Ingenious!
