I have a SM465 that was rebuilt in 2006. I was going to run it in my FJ40 but decided to go with a TH350. The transmission is sitting with no fluid in it ready for fluid and to be hooked up. It does have a NP205 t-case on it that was also rebuild along with it. Cost me a pretty good penny for it when i bought it and then got it rebuilt. Looking to get 500 for it but is always an OBO.

Thanks:cheers:

is it the earlier 10 spline or the later 32 spline version?

you kight wanna post this on the pbb as well....

bump for ya.

thanks orange for letting me know what to put in there danimal was telling me i should post more about it as well. im going to snap a pic later today so you can see how clean it really looks and such and post more about it.

I've been looking into the NV4500 can anyone compare for me? If its an automatic (wouldn't figure as he has gone to the TH350) please just let me know.

On a side note my brother has the TH350 (turbo I think) in his 85 Xcab pickup behind a 350 and he loves it! You should be happy!

Yes im happy with my th350... wouldn mind a th400 with a shift kit but i deal with what i got for now. the difference between the nv4500 and sm465 is a 5th gear in the nv4500... there is a downside in my opinion to a nv4500 and that is they are really long they are sometime hard to get in the tranny hump and crossmemeber. there is also a slight gear ratio difference and i cant remember it off my head.

The TH350 in the 85 pickup has a slap shift kit. The guy that put it in builds drag cars so I guess he figured it would be cool.

So the SM465 doesn't have a fifth gear or its not an over drive gear, sry for the confusion.

nope its a tranny first gear then 3 more after that. Really good for crawling along with its simialr tranny the sm420. The nv4500 is the best option but they are a little more spendy then i have for just an OD.

Yeah, but if I'm putting the 383 in there to help with fun and towing some distance I want the overdrive :). Probably why I didn't know much about the SM465.

I would say thats your best bet! good luck on finding one... they seem to be kind of hard to find on craigslist out here i found one in Seattle once when i was going to go manual but changed my mind.
