Picked up an 80's SM465 thinking it was a SM420, and since my stuff won't work with it, I'm sellin it. It was retrofitted into a pre '67 Chevy tow truck (Hence my thinking it was a SM420) with a PTO to run a hydraulic pump. The PTO wasn't included when I bought it, so the PTO opening has no cover, (just a flat piece of steel or aluminum is all thats needed). Other than the PTO cover it is complete, with shifter. Appears to be in excelent shape, I was just going to replace the seals and drop it in, the magnet has fine metal shavings like normal, no chunks etc.. Bellhousing is included, had an old Chevy inline 6 in front of it (I think its the same bolt pattern as an older V-8, I'm not a chevy guy so I don't know).
Bellhousing, tranny and all for $200. Its going in a local 4x4 shop sat. to find buyers so let me know if you want it. I'm in Atlanta GA, and I'll drive about an hour to meet someone if necessary.
