SM420 to 5.3 Vortec? (1 Viewer)

I found a decent price on a used 5.3 Vortec out of a '99 GMC half ton. like the SM420 and was wondering if they can be two peas in a pod?

I don't believe they share the same bolt pattern at the block....

I knew that some things had changed, but it appears that AA has them covered....and yes, you could make it work..read on!
