I still think kick-down too.

Well, try driving with the shifter set to L. If it pulls like it's supposed to, then you know it's not linkage, and probably is kick-down. If it still feels "gummy," then you should consider the linkage. Or it could be something else entirely.

I'm not a mechanic, I just play one on the internet.
 
You might want to have the trans system flushed, and the fluid exchanged. The flush and exchange will get most of teh old fluid out, and new fluid in.

Also, add a trans cooler line filter, this will make a big difference in shift quality, and add a lot of life to your trans. There are a few out there, I am using the Magnefine. You can find them at broncograveyard.com or bossproducts.us
