Does anyone see a reason not to use the Rack seen here, Steel Bi-folding ATV Ramps, for a Moose rack build? it looks to be a little heavier (not that 10-15lbs. really makes a huge difference) but it is also only 1" tall. i know it wouldn't make a huge diffrence, but i really like the look of The Baja and DiamondRax slim racks. And it's rated at 1000lbs instead of 1200lbs. Not like i'm putting that much up anyways. Any thoughts, suggestions?

Not to hijack but I'm selling a set of ramps that I already welded together. I'm asking $75 bucks and it weighs 19 lbs.

I would still go aluminum so as to avoid rust and the weight savings. Their isn't a cost savings (especially if you are paying $30 shipping). 44" wide....I would prefer wider. Would you powdercoat or spray paint the steel?

All the Aluminum ramps i see are about 44"-48" wide. I prefer the full square rung ramps and the steel would save me $50. I was just wondering if there was anyone who had also considered this. I would probably just paint it. It would see a ton of use. Mostly additional lightning and the occasional thing or two strapped up there. I would love the ramp you're selling, but shipping would kill me. It was just a thought. Anything i do will have to wait till after tax season anyways.

Aluminum isn't $50 more expensive, you just need to shop around. 47.5" wide. 1000 lb rating. No rusting or maintenance. Lower center of gravity. $79 @ cabelas with shipping cheaper than $30. Free shipping if you spend $99 actually. Add something to your order. No brainer.

looks like the cabella is where I would start...add good guttermounts ...likely finished @ about 300$...
the issue would be its front edge above the sunroof..FWIW the 4 factory rack rails are 45"...the entire roof is about 84"ish

Never seen chicks in heels loading ATV's. Hmm. And I call OUR area redneck....

I just wish someone made an aluminum rack that was only 1" tall. I love the thin, low-profile look. Maybe I'll just have to keep looking. And i would probably use the cheap aerasol bed-liner on the steel, sealed and treated for life that way. :)
