Did you leave a 1/4 inch gap between the frame and the mount at the back of both sliders like I said?

I don't, I am really happy with the fit on the driver side, very nice and tight. The passenger side rubs that bottom bit of rubber on the back door just a little bit. I might gap that side or just shave a little off that rubber for now though it's not enough to bother me.

The only thing I am not happy about is the paint. I sanded scuffed cleaned prepped and primered and the duplicolor extreme truck armor stuff still didn't stick well. I would not recommend that paint.

You may be too close to the pinch weld without the gap and they may rattle a little bit. The good news is that they should be easier to take on and off after they have been on the truck for a little while. I even drilled the holes in the frame plate larger on yours because Eric's were hard to get lined up. I guess you forgot the bottle jack trick too? you can easily lift them into place and, as we learned with Bamaheel's, move them a little bit forward or backward.

That sucks about the paint, did you use the duplicolor primer too?

I'm really excited about getting mine, Can't wait! Should I go on and romove my factory step rails or just do that when I come up for final fitting!!!

Either way. If you can live without them it will speed things up. If not, it is no big deal to take them off. We took Bamaheel's off when we fitted the sliders.

I haven't noticed a rattle. I used a bottle jack on the outside bar to tweak the frame plate I had been trying to jack it straight up and that wasn't working. All my problems were because o my inexperience not anything wrong with the sliders/design.

I used generic primer.

I don't know what I'll do with/about the paint. For now I'm just going to ignore it.

These things look ba-dass!

semi-gloss black rattle can is the only thing I use for accessories....

I can def live with put them, but I can sleek for all the girls trying to get in my rig, lol! So I have some free time tomorrow, I'll go on an start pulling them! Should I bring my hi-lift, mine is lifted!

Also just let me know when to head up there, I work Friday and sat, and will be out of town next week, but just tell me when and I'll make it work

I've still got a couple of small things to weld up before they are ready. Kids get sick, I get sick - story of my life. Hi lift jack wont help on these. You have to use a bottle jack directly under the frame mounts to push them on. lifted is no problem, I just stack wood under the bottle jack. I'll let you know when they are ready to install.

If you make a June meeting out of it
I'd like to come back up. I can be the example of how not to install sliders ;) and show off how bad ass mine look.

Just checking back in

only need a couple of hours in the shop to get them finished up. Plates are cut and bent and I ran out of square tube for the arms the last time I was working on them. I've got the steel now but have been waiting for a somewhat cooler night to get out there and get them ready to go - I think I'm just going to have to suck it up and work in the heat.

I used mine several times last weekend... this is the only good picture I have seen so far though...

But they saved my rockers atleast 3 times in a couple of hours (newbie )

awesome, thanks for posting that.

I played tether totter once resting on my sliders (major pucker factor) and later I dropped off a little ledge and landed on the arm by the cat I'm sure I would have in trouble then if I hadn't had those sliders. They at least saved my cat if they didn't keep me from pushing my rocker into my passenger door.

posted with my thumbs.
