The first arm on the passenger side, the one that bolts to the frame took a long time to get lined up.
bhmmapping said:Did you leave a 1/4 inch gap between the frame and the mount at the back of both sliders like I said?
I'm really excited about getting mine, Can't wait! Should I go on and romove my factory step rails or just do that when I come up for final fitting!!!
bhmmapping said:You may be too close to the pinch weld without the gap and they may rattle a little bit. The good news is that they should be easier to take on and off after they have been on the truck for a little while. I even drilled the holes in the frame plate larger on yours because Eric's were hard to get lined up. I guess you forgot the bottle jack trick too? you can easily lift them into place and, as we learned with Bamaheel's, move them a little bit forward or backward.
That sucks about the paint, did you use the duplicolor primer too?
Either way. If you can live without them it will speed things up. If not, it is no big deal to take them off. We took Bamaheel's off when we fitted the sliders.
Also just let me know when to head up there, I work Friday and sat, and will be out of town next week, but just tell me when and I'll make it work
bhmmapping said:I've still got a couple of small things to weld up before they are ready. Kids get sick, I get sick - story of my life. Hi lift jack wont help on these. You have to use a bottle jack directly under the frame mounts to push them on. lifted is no problem, I just stack wood under the bottle jack. I'll let you know when they are ready to install.
Just checking back in
