Has anyone done a SOA and used sliders (like on a dirt track car) instead of shackles in the front? I want to keep the front as low as possible but still have the flex of a SOA. Looks to me like I can get more travel with a slider instead of a shackle. Any thoughts?

...considering my springs are less than 1/4" off the frame at ride height, I don't see where ya gain much....seems like much more effort than it's worth versus putting the shackle eye thru the frame.

How much movement (swing) do you get from the shackle if your spring is that close to the frame?

for mine, considering the shackle lays over the spring at a 45* angle, plenty..and with flat springs, it never hits the frame either (tho it does get REALLY close) I did experiment with 4-5 different shackle lengths in 1/2" increments before finding exactlee the right length.

14"+ stroke shocks, and I use almost all of it. (actually, with the Bilstein shocks being gas charged, it now sits about 1/2" off the frame....still close tho...)

Woody,

Thanks, for the advice.

ya know wood, mine sits exactly the same but my alcans are arced a little still so I rub the frame just a bit.

Sliders are not appropriate here
