Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone. I've been looking at various sliders for my '95 FZJ80 grocery getter. My Manik nerf bars rotted off due to Wisconsin winters and I need new steps for the family to get in. I want to preserve the factory front mudflaps without cutting them (like Slee's). Running boards are not happening. The sliders from Rocky-Road.com seem to fit the bill but the angled pics on their site make it hard to tell. Does anyone know anyone with these sliders? How many inches (if any) are there between the front edge of the slider and the (A) two bolts that hold the bottom of the fender? and/or (B) the rear edge of the wheel arch or mudflap? Any info would be great. Thanks. Brian E

sliders

I do not have any (yet). I feel there are many of us out there that need a step and slider that is truly safe for smaller feet and legs so they do not get stuck. I have seen Slee slider steps in person, (AWESOME) and have read some great reviews of Bumpitoffroad's slider steps (try the search on MUD). It looks like both make a solid easy to use step and still handle the rock rash. Good luck, welcome to MUD and let us know what you decide. With pics of course!

Try contacting bump-it and talk to him. From what I have read he is very willing to help design or alter something for your needs.

I have the Rocky Road Sliders on my 93 and have retained my front mud flaps. The question is are the sliders for a 93 and 95 the same length? My 93 was used as the mock up by Rocky road to build all sliders for the 93-94 FZJ80. They stated that the only change from My sliders to the 95-97 was a bracket alteration due to the differing cats. I would bet your front mud flaps would be safe with the 95-97 slider but you should call Rocky Road to be certain.
