The FJC crew crowd likes to have a good time so they get pretty chatty. Lots of ribbing and inside jokes. Most of the info can be found on the first post. They try to keep it updated.

Just make sure you print out the map and have a signed copy of it in your glovebox. It will serve as your permit on the WMA. People in Bama I'm guessing most of you guys already know how that all works.

Most everyone is eating at Geno's after the ride on Saturday. It's a local place in scottsboro that has wings, pizza, drinks, and a fair amount of tv's for the SEC Championship game (Roll Tide!).

I probably won't be at Geno's. I'll be watching the game with my dad after I get off the trails.

Brett, when are we leaving? Friday night? Saturday morning? I'm pumped!

I'll be going to Pell City Friday night and then leaving for Skyline earlu saturday morning. Is Joey going?

Y'all have room for a roll away?

negative, already got a blow up doll on the floor, rub-a-dub-dub three men already in this tub!

Are you guys planning to ride on Sunday too?

Hmm, depends on what's out there really and depends on if others go out early enough since we are over 3 hours away...

As for a Sunday ride, really depends on what all we ride Saturday. Either way I want to be on the trailer and leaving no later than lunch on Sunday.

Lunch time? Better not mess with my beanie weenies...

Sweet. Welcome aboard. If you guys like it, we'll have to hook up more and hit some other local places.

Obviously I am out of the loop on the amount of cruiser owners in our area; thought I knew everyone.......gentlemen, please drop me a line and introduce yourselves and a little about you. Whats your rig, number of kids you have, favorite color, etc. I know of 4 cruiser folks in the area and one thats trying to become one. A buddy of mine and I know if a few spots to wheel that are pretty good.

I feel like I don't know anyone with Land Cruisers so that's why I convert all my friends to them!

I'm Phil (26 years old) and I graduated from UAH in 2005 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. I'm a youth leader at the Rock FWC in Huntsville. Born and raised atop Skyline Mountain and I grew up in the woods playing on the trails with my dad (Mt. DEW) and brother. I'm also single and my favorite color is Crimson (roll tide!)

Got into Cruisers a couple of years ago but we've always had Toyota 4x4's in the family. Converted my dad to a FJ40 as well as my buddy, dwh84. We hit the trails when we're not in the shop tinkering with them.

Got a Nov 1972 FJ40 that is forest green but I think it was originally Horizontal Blue. It was bone stock when I bought it.

Things we've done to it:
Front Axle: mini-truck disc swap, spring over, 4x4 labs hysteer, aussie locker, shackle reversal, 4.88 R&P
Rear Axle: spring over, welded spider gears, home-brew anti-wrap bar, 4.88 R&P
Sitting on 37's, homemade sliders, and saginaw power steering are other specs.

Future mods include FJ60 rear springs flipped to increase wheel-base and deeper gears in the t-case (Orion, toybox, haven't decided yet).

hey kissmyaxle, do you go to any TLCA events? When all the cruisers from the entire region converge, you find there's a bunch of us! The biggest event in the SouthEast is fast becoming the Cruiser Crawl in B'ham...
We down in Auburn wheel at Morris Mtn. alot so we should meet ya'll there some weekend. Some folk from lower AL are actually heading up next weekend and some of us are going to MM then! com'on!

I am 0%.

I am sitting at home right now sick as a dog. I doubt I will make it this go round. :frown:

Y'all have fun, be safe, and take pictures!

If one more person drops from going in our group then I'm unsubrcibing from all groups!
Actually, only one other person can, and that's Brett! and he's on the fence too! Damn!

Well, my background is a lot like bamableach's. We grew up together and went to school together. I have only recently been converted to a land cruiser. I have a Nov. 69 truck that was horizontal blue. It is now some hor. blue, a medium blue, and mixtures of gray primer from the previous owner. To date, I have swapped in later model fine spline axles (which includes front disc brakes), welded the rear axle, sitting on 34" ss LTB's. I have just finished up getting it trail worthy so this will be its first run. Future plans are saginaw ps, spring-over, rear disc, and misc other items. We definitely have to get together.

Glad to meet all of you and hope we can meet in person soon. When we were in AU we wheeled in Notasulga. I dont know if it is still open to the public or not, but Pat dyes joint butted up against our realm down there. We dont get down to LA very often, but maybe this next fall we can hook it up. My sister in law is a senior down there and maybe she will fail enough to stay in till then.

Never been to the cruiser crawl in b'ham but am interested. Heard it is a blast. I have only been back in NA for about 2 years or so. I have been bouncing all over the states...SC, VA, Europe, AR, SC again and now back here. Not a member of TLCA since 98 or so. Again, had other things going at the time.:censor:

Sounds like you fellas have some nice rigs. Below is my newest girl. Buddy of mine bought it while we were AU. Finally got it from him 9 years later. He hated to seller it and I hated to be the one to buy it....;)

79 fj-40, locked in the rear, 4"skyjacker, 2"over stock shackle, ps, weber, headers, 34 tsl's & 33 bfg mt's, factory warn winch and bumper (we think this one had the option added) Anywho, we have had a blast with these things over the years. Take a gander at my page if you want too, and you will see my past. You guys will have a blast as well with these beasts...sounds like you already are....it gets better with age I assure you.

I have a ton of pictures of us all over the states, so I will try and get those guys scanned in and give you fellas a little eye candy.

We do have some "legal" places in the Poka (Loachapoka), they are just unmaintained county roads that have huge ruts and huge mud holes... even cross a stream or two. We definitely don't wheel illegally if we can help it, but I have heard of people going to Notasulga, is it legal? Or was it at least?
