I'm trying to solve a bushing issue with skyjacker shock absorbers. They are saying the proper bushing for lower front and rear should be a 3/4” pin by 1-1/2”. The pin diameter seems fine, just a press fit. The length however seems too short. It is pretty much the same length as my pin. The bolt and washers don’t really make a firm connection and I have a new muffled sort of rattle which I’m pretty confident is coming from this. I’m thinking it should compress some between the two washers on the mount to make that bushing snug up tight, maybe not smashed up like a rubber bushing but still compress some.
Skyjacker says my truck is an anomaly and that they have installed thousands without issue. 1-1/2” is the longest bushing they make. When they told me I should jerry a few 3/4” washers in there I was shocked! not really what I wanted to hear after dropping $200 on them.
Here is my question. What is the length of the mounting pin on a 60? Is it different than the 62?

I recently went through this debacle with Advance Auto and Rancho. Front shocks recommended by Advance Auto were double hoops vs hoop and pin. When I asked for help three shops all threw their hands up and said I was no my own. Contacted Rancho via email and ordered mine through Rock Auto. Same issue for me. The pin on the axle is WAY longer than the bushing. I just tightened up the bolt and washer without snugging up the bushing. Gonna have to go back and get some washers. For such an incredible truck, it amazes me how little the aftermarket really knows. This truck has been around for over 36 years! I feel frustrated when I have to ask some kid at a big box auto store for any help. Does that make me old and crusty? Rhetorical.....

Fj62 shock mounts?

Sorry. 60 series.

Just a follow up with this.

After living one year with these skyjacker max shocks I finally removed and junked them. What a complete waste of money. Very noisy, the bushings fit poorly, the boots trapped water, and they looked worse than the 10yr old shocks that I replaced. All I got was arrogance from the company when I wanted some customer support. I put some used OME shocks on and it drives 100% better. Live and learn.
