Hi all, Just posting a few pic's for reference as I'm very happy with end result. If anyone wants to see the mounting frame I can post pic's next time I pull the intercooler off if anyone is interested. Bit of work in the mounting frame to take most of the vibration out of the intercooler at idle. Frame bolts into existing holes - two in side of head +1 bolt under intake cross over pipe + two holes in inlet manifold that can be seen in pic. The frames on each side are linked under the intercooler with a cross bar.

I want to do the exact same thing.
Please do post up the mounts.

How is your boost controller set up there?

re:-boost controller, where the breather from the rocker cover goes into the cross over pipe i have removed the pressed in tail on the cross over pipe, tapped to m18, put in large brass plug, drilled and tapped plug 1/8 bsp, put in a tee piece. Straight off the plug goes to boost gauge, 90 degree (tail) silicone hose goes towards intake manifold then under cross over pipe thus position of boost controller. It might take a week or so to post pic's of mount but will do. The mount made it a bit hard to easily run the silicone hose in a more direct route to the actuator. Makes it nice and easy to adjust the controller where it is.

What sort of drop in EGT did you achieve with this intercooler configuration?

Mark...

What psi of boost you running?
only running 9.5-10psi, as i want it to last awhile as it's done 380,000km. engine still seems very good though, big end bearings looked almost like new when I had the sump[ off to weld in the oil return.

I fitted the intercooler and turbo at the same time so i'dont know what difference it makes. Currently it's get about to 400-420degC max on big long high hills, 4 gear. Talking exhaust gas temp, after fitting the turbo I ran it for a few days with the muffer in the system, then cut out the muffer and put in two straight though resonators welded together where the muffler was, dropped my exhaust gas temp by 70-80degC(exhaust is 2.5inch). I am sure temps will be back up to around 500 again when I try it pulling 2.5t of boat next week.

Nice work,i have a couple 1HDT to intercool,i prob will do the same thing except the crossover pipe have to be shortened and a 2.5" round end welded on....

Only pic I've got atm showing the scoop. It's a fiberglass scoop for a patrol I think. Was cheap, coat of paint, happy how it turned out. Haven't had a chance to pull the intercooler off yet been busy build rear bar corners.
