The LED upgrades for the mag are varied. With each new generation led module that comes out, there are adaptations to the maglites so they can keep up with the surefire or crees if that's what you desire. With much more run time and potential heat sinking if modded the right way because of the gargantuan aluminum chassis. Most upgrades can take advantage of the focus ability innate to the mags so you can do flood or throw.

As for the clips, I would think some tie wraps into the carpet (in place of screws) would be sufficient?

I don't see how tie wraps would work. In my last truck, I checked for wires, hoses, etc., and used sheet metal screws through the floor.

A screw through the floor would surely work. Though I always hesitate to modify metal if it's avoidable. I was suggesting just some inconspicuous holes in the carpeting and attaching the clips to that via tie wraps.

Quick question how would someone fasten those clips in that place? Would you have to drill in the frame? Or could you place a board below the carpet that the screws could mount into? I love the spot I just want to have it firmly attached (just for those role over situations).

Please take a look at my Post Number 4. As I mentioned, there really is no need to have a clip or mount for your Maglite. Unless you roll your rig, it will never be a bother and yet handy in a moments notice.

Albeit, some people just like projects, so if you're in that herd, then by all means buy the Amazon clips and bolt that sucker in!

I just like the simplicity of it all and that's what my post was all about.

Industrial strength Velcro. No holes and will hold it tight.
