Let me introduce you to my new favorite piece of hardware.
this is the mount diamond recommends for use with their hatch mount.

This is a trick tab

A perfect fit!

I buy them at Fibercraft or Samco here in Reno.

The antenna is in one with a 3/8" hole, the ones I used for the radio and speaker are 1/4".
