I noticed this while I washing my car. That the passenger side view mirror is loose. When I looked at it I saw that the 3 bolts on the pivot point are loose, and that two of them are stripped out.

I tried to search for the parts on Toyota EPC myself but couldnt find them. I called 2 dealerships and they said the only way to get them is to order the $276 mirror assembly. Is this really the case? Can anyone confirm that? Or does anyone have a spare side mirror around that I could get the bolts from? Picture included below, to clarify what bolts I am talking about.

Guess thats true....I was just not going to move them until I had replacement ones. Because one of the bolts is stripped pretty bad.

I have a 2000 with the same issue. Loose passenger's mirror. Mine isn't because the screws are stripped. I tried tighten but they seem tight. I tried to remove but no go. I'm afraid I'll strip the phillips head. The one forward and closest to the vehicle seems to be the only tight one. I can see the plate these three screw go into pivets off of that one. Figure if I can get them out I can use a washer to tighten them up. AZ vehicle so rust is not a issue. Any secret to getting these loose with out stripping the head? Special screwdriver that matches the head?

Loose ps mirror

I have the same problem on my 99. Cannot get the screws out without stripping them. I wedged a small piece of folded paper in between the head piece and base. This stopped movement until I can find a fix.

My is only a problem on the highway. So not really a issue just want to get it fixed. Once they are out I will replace the phillips with either a allen head or torx screws. Reading thru some threads it seems Toyota may have used some type of lock tight on the srews in the mirrors. Lock tight and phillips screws are not a good match.
