Ok, call me crazy or whatever. Is it the way I sit or what, but I swear that the side mirrors in my fzj80 KILL ME at night if a car is behind me in the right way. Has anyone put on blue tint (audi/bmw style) to help kill the shine a little? Maybe I am being really picky, but it bothers me.

I think those are auto dimming, not just blue tint. Could be wrong though. That's how it was on my Range Rover.

I know what you're talking about and in other rigs it bthers me, too. In my 80 I was blessed with some after market window tinting that works well on the side mirrors and so well in the center one that I don't need to use the night position. Don't know what the brand name is or even if it's legal, (bought it used with tinting installed) but have never been stopped for it. Only drawbacks that I've noticed are 2: 1. Side vision at night when turning corners is slightly hampered. 2. Friends/family/neighbors can't see me waving at them out of side windows. You wouldn't have to do the whole window if you went this route - just where the mirrors show through. If I ever get stopped or a fix-it ticket for the tinting - I'll leave the tinting on where the mirrors show through. A couple of pics for example: On the forward facing shot, you can see through the windshield out the drivers side window, but not through the car from the side.

No, it's not auto dim. Or atleast the ones I have seen in person. I just thought about something, tinting the glass on the mirror is pointless if you ever use a ice scrapper. I do. And I have factory tint (the bronze like factory tint) so tinting the windows won't look right with the black/bronze combo. On your dark truck not so bad but I fear how it would look on my silver..
