I purchased all new gasket from slocruisers, about a year ago and he did not have rear cargo gaskets. I just wrote him this week and still a no go on cargo gaskets. These are last set I need to have a complete set. I am interested in either winsheild gasket or the chevy one. Let me know how winsheild gasket works need more input...

I hate to say it but about 3 1/2 years ago I purchased John's @SLOCRUISER full weather strip package for about $1800.00. Off frame restoration of a 74, FJ55. I am finally near the end and installing all glass, headliner and weather stripping. Long story short, most of John's stuff is of poor quality. Door weather stripping is generic ( nothing like original) and probably easily found elsewhere for cheaper. The window track stuff is OK, but I think the backing is to thick because windows are hard to roll up even with new glass (3/16") and proper adjustment. the IMPORTANT stuff like the fixed Rear cargo window seals and the fixed rear passenger and driver door quarter window seals are are terrible. Actually the Cargo window seal quality was good but 1 of mine was damaged and He no longer has replacements (which does not help me). The quarter window seals are completely unacceptable. Very poor quality control and actually will not fit without major modification, and even then fitment is very poor. I have not installed windshield yet, but I am not to worried about that because there are a few options out there. I have not got to the tailgate yet either. God I hope that stuff isn't junk! John seemed like a nice guy on the phone but quality control is non-existent. I think I will send everything that I can't use or that doesn't work back to him. I know its been awhile but maybe Ill get some money back. I just got new fixed rear cargo set from Cape the other day. The guy they use started making them again. $239 for the set. Quality is excellent, have not installed yet. I am working on the Quarter window seals for the passenger doors. Found some in Dubai, sounds questionable but I am desperate. Any body have any info on new or used rear driver and passenger door quarter window seals Toyota #68188-90351 (RH) and 68189-90351 (LH). FYI, there is info floating out there that FJ60 seals might work. They do not. Although CityRacer makes are very quality set for $96.00

I have new OEM rear door fixed window weatherstripping. I’d love to find someone who can draw it up in CAD so we can send it out and get molds made. I am in to share costs...
I know @DoubleNickels had said he did this type work in the past.
I'm in to throw some $$$ at this too.

I used the @SLOCRUISER stuff on mine and never had an isssue with any of it.

I’m thinking you got a bad run of them when you bought them years ago.

Of course I’m not super picky either.

The only reason I post this is some people still have some stuff from him they have not installed and I don’t think they should panic.

If we can have an honest conversation about a product without panicking or bashing a guy that goes out of his way to provide much needed parts for the 55’s then yes the side window rubber falls short of expectations.

I bought the SLOCRUISERS FJ55 Rear Door Fixed Window Rubber Two Piece Set for $450 in about late 2015.

I was then and am still happy that John provided these for us, without them I would not have been able to install the side glass. Unfortunately mine started to deteriorate within 6 months after I installed them and I’m now forced to park inside during the summer months to try to preserve them until something better comes along.

I would gladly buy another set from @SLOCRUISER if he still made them and would be pleased if he was able to improve the quality of the rubber, if you touch these now they will crumble and I don’t believe I’ll get another three years from them.

Edit to add the side cargo rubber from SLOCRUISERS bought at the same time is outstanding.

I'm with the rest and not wanting this to be a bash thread, but maybe get an improved product. My vent window rubber fell apart before I installed, sent back and got replacements that are deformed. I've bought different rubber products, including wheel barrow tires from other countries that just fell apart within the year and still using bungee straps from the sixties made here in the USA. It would be great to get rubber that was made to USA standards.

Ouch, I knew this stuff was either unobtainium or expen$ive but that is just insulting quality, clearly the actual rubber supplier (China?) was not holding up their end for Slow.

Other than windshield I’m thinking my windows are just staying put, thankfully my headliner is livable.
