Hi all,

1987 JDM BJ74 13B-T Auto 287000km. I took "The Punisher" formerly known as Chewbacca, out for its first camping trip and light off roading adventure this weekend. Went down and played on some crown land south of longview, alberta. I just had an alignment last week but at about 85k - 95km/h I get a serious shutter in the steering and the truck. I thought the alignment would fix this. Could it be wheel balancing? Also, the truck hops and bumps up and down a little bit in town around 40-50km/h (on flat ground and even NEW asphault) Any ideas?

Out of round tires would be my first guess. It's very common with the larger sizes.
Balancing is right up there also. You might have knocked a weight off.

Both show up doing a wheel balance..

You might try moving the back tires to the front, and see if that changes anything.

Could be a corroded u-joint or drive shafts out of balance as well.
