I've been towing with my LX470 for quite sometime with relative light weight.
Now that I just got a new used boat with some weight, I would like to revisit my towing situation.
My setup right now is too long to comfortably fit, so i need to either trim the tongue or add a fold-able tongue

Just towed this for 6 hours home last Friday :

I tow a 21’ bass boat, complete boat and trailer weighs 4500lbs, pulls it fine.

I use a Weight Distribution Hitch pulling my 4,000 lb travel trailer.
Mine is an Andersen Hitch.
Not sure is WDH's are typically utilized pulling boats.

NEW 8.5 X 52 ENCLOSED GOOSENECK CARGO ...

Been towing this with my 2002 LC for a few years now, I usually don't get to far. Tongue weight 8,000 pounds when empty, tow weight 14,000 empty.

cruisin4bruisins, that's really impressive.

on my rig, the boat+motor+ gears are less than 3000 lb + the trailer. I am thinking of cutting the tongue beam shorter so that it can fit easily in my driveway, but not sure how that will affect my tongue weight, and handling.
i need to to to a weight station to weight all 3 axles before making a move.

Note that i already have the King springs installed in mine.

cwmoser,

I don't need a WDH since i can move the axle on my trailer to balance the weight.

2,600 lbs unloaded. Not sure about the tongue weight, but at least 300 lbs. I have sway control but no weight distribution hitch. Rear springs are OME 2860. Rides just fine. Before swapping the rear springs it squatted pretty hard.

The hinges on your tailgate to support the gooseneck ball must be impressive!
