While doing an oil change on my '00 LX470 I noticed a connector that appears to be unseated and I am curious as to what it might be and if it should be connected.
I have attached two photos but in case they do not provide enough help as to the location I will attempt to describe.
It is located just above the oil pan on the drivers side (left).

I thank you in advance for your help.

X3. Mine either.

all three of you need to plug that into the harmonic resonator immediately. If the HR has been removed, sell the truck or get ready for major repairs. The HR is about a 10 inch long oval and bolted to the frame just under the ps door.

i am joking obviously, i have the same thing, no clue?!?

Ok. I get it. Poke at the new guy. And who do you suggest stole my Harmonic Resonator? Thomas Edison? He stole everything Tesla worked on.

no really, aside from the resonator, i really do have the same thing. Not poking.

Post the wire colors...

...I have an '01 factory wiring book...i'll see what I can find. Too cold here tonight to crawl under the truck:mad:.

It connects to a SFA and triggers a light on the dash that reads "You are the man!".

da mn, i knew i needed something else

Thank goodness we've solved the mystery of what it does when properly connected, I am depressed however because I am now faced with the possibility that my truck, whom I feed, clean, and provide shelter no longer feels that I am in fact the man!

I wish I never asked!

I just removed my running boards on my 06 LX. That is the same connector that is used to power the lights on the running boards when the doors are open, or you unlock the car. I wonder if everyone has light capabilities & if you can just tap into them? Test it out by seeing if there is power supplied when you press the key unlock?

Txanm, I believe you're confused. The location of that plug is underneath the drivers feet, and the wiring goes straight into the body. My 2000LX did not come with the illuminated running boards but the wiring is there. I've never actually tested the circuit but have always thought about adding some LED strips underneath, street glow yo.

Attached is where the running boreds that haven't been loosed are connected. I didn't see the connector that the OP posted in the location everyone seems to have, but I'm not about to pull the dust cover off just to check.

Confusion is a possibility. Don't let location of the plug confuse you though. Here are some pictures of the plug I have located behind the front wheels. I can't locate the origination of the plug, I will attempt tomorrow if I get free. Interesting similarity though in plugs...

On my 2000 it's in the same location as my 2005, not where the OP posted, it was even connected to the running board in a similar way just not plugged into anything

I'll get my test light when I'm under the truck to see. I'd love to mount some cheap led strips under the truck for entry lights if the wiring is already there. :grinpimp:
