I'm doing the part-time on my 97 80 series due to viscous clutch gone bad. Trying to buy a Japanese joint probably HDK. Looking for part number for shorter stub. If it doesn't come with the ABS ring I can remove it from the old ones.

Why not just remove the VC from the transfer case?I'm doing the part-time on my 97 80 series due to viscous clutch gone bad. Trying to buy a Japanese joint probably HDK. Looking for part number for shorter stub. If it doesn't come with the ABS ring I can remove it from the old ones.
I already removed the VC, I know I'll be without ABS when the hubs are free. Do you happen to know the part number to the joint portion of the berfield? Why not just remove the VC from the transfer case?
You're going to have to disable ABS with a part time kit as the front axle will not be turning.
